Raphael Soriano (1907-1988) was one of the early Case Study architects working in postwar Los Angeles university of california los angeles and a talented advocate of the new building materials university of california los angeles and construction techniques developed at the time. Born in Rhodes, Soriano brought an outsider's perspective when he arrived in Los Angeles with little grasp of English in 1924, at the age of 17.
